1989 Vancouver 28
The Vancouver 28 is an evolution of the original Robert Harris designed Vancouver 27. The newer 28 being fractionally longer in the stern and with a slightly raised sheer providing a little more volume below decks. With no compromises made to suit modern fashions, she is, without doubt, a yacht designed for short-handed offshore cruising, with examples to be found in all parts of the globe this highly capable design has proved itself to be highly dependable. A yacht that will keep going in weathers when far larger yachts have been forced into port.

The Vancouver 28 is a direct descendant from the original Vancouver 27, the design that started the Vancouver legend. Vancouver 28 is beautifully balanced; so much so that she will sail herself, making the passage making untiring and easy on the crew. Even when her large stowage area is full to capacity she carries the load without impeding her sailing performance. The Vancouver 28 effortlessly maintains a high average speed, enabling owners to plan on covering 100 nautical miles in a day. This yacht (like all Vancouvers) offers a flexible sail plan with her strong, versatile cutter rig. Everything about this yacht should recommend itself to a sailing couple:- Comfortable, good sized sea berths, a wet locker adjacent to the companionway, large chart table, good ventilation, easy access to all parts for maintenance, and all that generous storage space.
- The cockpit is integral with the deck moulding.
- There are two large cockpit lockers port and starboard with GRP sealing lids and shock cords to hold them open.
- The drained gas bottle locker is aft with space for two bottles.
- There are two cave lockers in the coaming.
- The two large diameter cockpit drains exit through the stern and the floor has a teak duckboard.
- Two harness lifeline attachment points are fitted.
- The cockpit seats are finished in smooth Teadmaster.
- All headlinings replaced 2017/18
- Sprayhood new 2019
- Settee berth foam renewed 2018
RIG
- The cutter rig is standard.
- The mast has a single set of spreaders and is silver anodised.
- The two foresail reefing systems have been renewed recently
- Arun slab reefing In Boom with Stack pack and lazy jacks zip up cover, all refurbished 2018
- Barton Marine boom strut
